"Cody our guide was extremely excellent. Very knowledgeable. No way we could have seen so much in a day without taking this tour. I would definitely recommend taking this tour first, then you will know exactly where you want to spend more time."

The Guide
Arches and Canyonlands in One Day: Which Tour, and What It Skips
Two parks fit in a day only if somebody else drives the dirt roads.
Arches and Canyonlands are 30 or 40 minutes apart by road, and most first-time visitors to Moab want both. Doing them in one day on your own means the paved scenic drives: Balanced Rock, the Windows and the Delicate Arch viewpoints in one park, Mesa Arch and Grand View Point in the other. The full-day tours do something different. They spend the day on the dirt roads in both parks that a rental car cannot take.
The full day on this page
NAVTEC’s tour, with the booking calendar on this page, starts with pickup from your Moab hotel and heads up to Island in the Sky. It drops down the Shafer Trail switchbacks, stops at Ancestral Puebloan rock art carved into the cliffs, and follows part of the White Rim to Musselman Arch above the Colorado. After a picnic lunch it enters Arches near Doc Williams Point, climbs a steep rock wall and drives between sandstone fins to Tower Arch, the Eye of the Whale and the Marching Men, seven towers in a row. On the way back to Moab it stops at dinosaur tracks.
It costs from $330 a person, rated 4.9 from 320 reviews on GetYourGuide (checked October 2026), with lunch, ice water and lemonade included. Park entrance fees are extra. The tour needs at least three travelers.

We have not confirmed that the two listings are the same departure; compare the itinerary and inclusions on each before you book, and treat the figures as the shape of the market, not a quote.
Two other days cover both parks. Adrift Adventures’ ten-hour Jeep day enters Arches by its backcountry side in the morning and drops down the Shafer Trail in the afternoon, with about four and a half hours in each park and lunch included. Moab In A Day’s three-parks tour stays in a closed van, adds Dead Horse Point and suits travelers who would rather skip the rough roads.
What a two-park day leaves out
Delicate Arch up close is the obvious gap. The famous arch is a 3-mile round-trip hike from its own trailhead, and none of the 4x4 days walk to it. Fiery Furnace needs its own reservation. In Canyonlands, the day covers Island in the Sky only; the Needles and the Maze are separate trips. If Arches is your priority and you have two days, the Canyonlands or Arches guide helps split them, and the Island in the Sky tours give Canyonlands a half day of its own.

What Two-Park Travelers Say
"We had an incredible experience with Andy as he drove us through Canyonlands and Arches on an 8 hour tour, stopping at highlights along the way. Andy gave us history, interesting stories and even telling us about what grows in the area. The lunch was an excellent surprise as well. We were definitely more than pleased with our day trip. If you can ask for Andy..you won’t be disappointed!!"
"it was a wonderful experience Probably the best tour we’ve ever taken."
"The tour was amazing, Allen is a great knowledgeable guide and a very safe driver.Thank you for a wonderful day."
"An incredible ride in the Land Cruiser on roads that are actually not passable... Through the back entrance into Arches National Park and thus to places that no other visitor can reach. The lunch snack on the edge of the cliffs in Canyonlands was an unforgettable experience."
"Amazing day trip exploring Arches and Canyonlands with Ben. What an awesome way to see so much of Arches and Canyonlands in a day with minimal hiking to see the gorgeous landscape and arches. You are well taken care of with Ben and there can not be a more knowledgeable guide."
"Amazing We had Abbey for a guide! She was so awesome! She is very knowledgeable of the history, geology and archeology along with great Mom jokes! Took us to great spots in both parks! I would highly recommend doing this tour the entire group was really great and accommodating."

Arches and Canyonlands in One Day: Questions
Distances, fees and what a two-park day can and cannot fit.
Yes, the highlights of Arches and Island in the Sky fit into one long day. On your own, that means the paved scenic drives in both parks. On a full-day tour such as the NAVTEC 4x4 day, it means the dirt roads too: the Shafer Trail and White Rim in Canyonlands and the Arches backcountry. What does not fit is the Needles, the Maze, or a hike to Delicate Arch on top of everything else.
No. Moab is the town; Arches and Canyonlands are two separate national parks near it. Arches' entrance is about 15 minutes north of downtown Moab, and Canyonlands' Island in the Sky visitor center about 40 minutes. Dead Horse Point is a third park, run by the state of Utah.
Not for entry: Arches dropped its timed-entry system for 2026. The park still needs an entrance pass, and Fiery Furnace hikes and the Devils Garden campground still need their own reservations. Canyonlands has never used timed entry.
Not a standard one: each park sells its own 7-day pass. A $55 annual pass covers both, plus Natural Bridges and Hovenweep, for U.S. residents, and the America the Beautiful pass covers every national park (nps.gov, checked October 2026). Tours do not include entry; bring a pass or expect to pay at each park.
The 4x4 if you want the backcountry; the van if you want comfort and Dead Horse Point. The 4x4 days drive rough dirt roads and suit anyone happy with a bumpy ride. Moab In A Day's three-parks van tour stays in a closed, air-conditioned vehicle, includes the Dead Horse Point entry and offers a low-mobility version.
Not at the arch itself. Delicate Arch is a 3-mile round-trip hike from its own trailhead. The 4x4 days spend their Arches time in the backcountry, at Tower Arch, Eye of the Whale and the Marching Men, and the van tour stops at the Delicate Arch viewpoint rather than walking to the arch.
